ROLE OF THE PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Hall

The role of the parish council is to represent the interests of the residents of Tormarton and West Littleton on a whole range of local matters including planning, highways, safety, housing, rights of way and street care.

Tormarton Parish Council normally meets on the 1st Monday of each month, except during August and January, when there are no meetings. The meetings, which are open to the public, are held in the Committee Room in the Parish Hall and the agendas are posted on village notice boards and the website at least 3 days beforehand.

In order to carry out its responsibilities, the parish council raises money through a precept which is collected by South Gloucestershire Council with the council tax. Details of how this money is spent can be obtained from the Parish Clerk or under the 'Finance' tab on our website.

The Parish Council are sole trustees of the Village Pond, however the Pond is looked after by a committee of volunteers.

The Parish Council are custodian trustees of the Tormarton Village Hall and also the Tormarton Playing Field.
